Address during the inauguration ceremony of the Antonio Meneghetti Faculty

Acc. Prof. Ludmila Verbitzkaja

“Ladies and gentlemen, colleagues, friends, dear Prof. Meneghetti, I wish to congratulate you for the wonderful choice of being here during the inauguration of the Antonio Meneghetti Faculty. At the beginning of every action, of every project, there is always a concrete person, someone of great initiatives, whose wisdom leads on to development during all his time. The extent in which these people advance is the extent in which the objectives of society advance. The present process of market globalisation practically affects us in every sphere of our lives and in the relentless pace of everything that is computerization, information, and globalisation – there no longer seems to be any space for humanism, for spirituality, for personality development. But today we are pleased about the institution of the Antonio Meneghetti Management Faculty, right in the heart of Brazil, in the Recanto Maestro International Centre of Humanist Art and Culture, since it opens the way to a process of humanist globalisation. I believe it is very important for the first Faculty to be that of Economics and Management since it stimulates the development of similar undertakings. The introduction of Ontopsychology into Russian scientific education was a very important fact for the development of pedagogy, psychology and many other sciences. I am very happy to say that the Saint Petersburg State University, the oldest university in Russia, founded by Peter I in 1724, began this collaboration when Ontopsychology postgraduate studies began within the Psychology Faculty. The results of this project were not only the inauguration of the Ontopsychology department in our University, but also other very important results: an elevation of the consciousness of people. The inauguration of the Antonio Meneghetti Faculty is another step towards the development of humanism in our planet, for pedagogy but especially for our young people. Our youngsters cannot forget the importance of spirituality, since without the spiritual dimension our society cannot advance. And that is why today the humanistic character of education is such a priority issue. Our great scientist, philologist and linguist Dmitri Sergeevitch Lihatchov said that humanization is the humanization of society; the principle of humanization begins especially with new education models, social-cultural models at the centre of which stands the individual. I wish to offer my heartfelt congratulations to Antonio Meneghetti for the great strides in science and humanistic culture, one of the most wonderful examples of which is our surroundings. I have never seen such a beautiful place in the entire world and therefore I wish to thank you for the opportunity I have been given to be here. And, once again, I wish to say “bolshoe spasibo” to Antonio Meneghetti for all that he does for mankind and for Russia. I also wish to thank those who have made this day possible because the inauguration of the Faculty is another step towards the humanistic vision in the world.
